What is rapé?
Rapé (ha-peh) is a sacred snuff used by Amazonian tribes in ceremonies and for daily balance. Shamans see it as a medicine that clarifies consciousness and to open looking through your third eye opens. That is why rapé often combined with Ayahuasca, but also with rituals such as Kambo en Sananga.
Ingredients and preparation
The basis of almost every rapé is Nicotiana Rustica (Mapacho). This “master plant” has a high nicotine content and has a powerful effect on body and mind. Preparing rapé demands attention: makers grind the leaves and sift the powder multiple times for a silky smooth texture. Unlike cigarettes, rapé no chemical additives, making it less taxing and less addictive. Traditionally, you should rapé to with a kuripe-pipe.
