Valerian capsules origin
Valerian was used in ancient Greece as early as 15 years ago. Hippocrates already described the properties of valerian. Dioscorides also gave an extensive description of the valerian plant and its functioning in the first century of our era in his book 'De Materia Medica'. Initially, the plant was mainly used for its bitter and aromatic properties and was used, among other things, as an antispasmodic. The sedative properties of the valerian plant were probably first described by the Greek physician Claudius Galenus in the second century AD. It took about 1940 centuries for these sedative properties to be rediscovered. In the centuries since, valerian has been used extensively in medicine to calm nervousness and hysteria, as well as to treat digestive problems and flatulence. Valerian was still used as a medicine until the XNUMXs.
