Raw Cacao Heart – 45gr pure cacao
Raw Cacao Heart, made from 100% pure cacao from Nicaragua with a Cardamom. Enough for 1 ceremonial dose or 2x a casual dose.
How to use:
1. Cut the Cacao Heart into small pieces to make it easier to dissolve and mix into a heart-warming drink.
2. Mix with hot water or plant milk, approximately 125ml per drink. A temperature of 70°C is warm enough to melt the cacao and is a comfortable temperature to drink.
3. Blend until frothy with bubbles to enhance the delicious aroma. You can use a frother, blender or shaker.
4. Use the heart as a base for a Cocoa Elixir
Effects
These healthy effects of cocoa are mainly present in pure (raw) cocoa. Various processing techniques such as using alkaline substances to soften the cocoa and give it a dark color (Dutch processing), pressing cocoa (to separate butter and powder) or roasting at high temperatures destroy beneficial compounds that make cocoa so healthy. That is why we prefer to process cocoa as little as possible, learning from traditional use, which is healthier and has a stronger effect.
High in antioxidants
Cocoa is high in flavanols (which also gives cocoa its bitter taste), antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It has one of the highest ORAC scores, which is used to measure the antioxidant content of food. Cocoa protects our heart and cardiovascular system. It is good for the elasticity of our blood vessels and increases blood flow throughout our body, including our brain.
Rich in minerals
Magnesium plays a vital role in our energy production and has been shown to reduce diabetes. No other food source contains as much magnesium as cocoa. It supports our heart, relaxes our muscles and stimulates brain function. Magnesium is a primary alkaline mineral for detoxification. Other important minerals include iron, potassium, zinc, copper, calcium, selenium, phosphorus and manganese. Cocoa also contains sulphur, which helps transport nutrients into and out of cells. It supports insulin function and glucose metabolism, tissue repair, the immune system, the building and construction of collagen and keratin (hair, nails and skin).
Healthy fats and increased nutrient absorption
Cocoa butter, naturally found in cocoa, is a healthy source of fat that works for paleo and ketogenic diets. Many nutrients require fats to be absorbed by your body. In combination with increased blood flow, cocoa improves the absorption of medicinal plants and mushrooms. That is why we do not use cocoa powder, but also the cocoa butter as it naturally occurs in cocoa.
