Description
Peyote cactus seeds
Pack of 10 Peyote ( Lophophora Williamsii) cactus seeds to grow your own Peyote cactus. In addition to its grey-green color and shape, the Peyote is best known for containing the psychoactive substance mescaline. These seeds are all viable and therefore excellent for cultivation. Peyote contains about 3 to 6% mescaline. Unfortunately, the Peyote cactus is currently endangered because it is simply being picked faster than it has time to grow back. It is therefore not a fast-growing cactus and you have to be patient if you want to be able to harvest it as an adult (12 cm in diameter) cactus.
Grow Instructions
- Place the seeds in a medium to large pot (5cm). Make sure there are enough holes in the pot for drainage. Use sterilized water.
- Place the jars in a layer of boiling water and wait until the top layer starts to get moist.
- Remove the jars from the water and cover them with plastic wrap. The optimum temperature for this phase is between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius.
- Make a few holes in the foil every other day. After a few days/weeks the cactus will start to grow.
Dosage and use of the Peyote
How exactly do you prepare the Peyote? First of all, it is important to know the dosage. An average dose of mescaline is about 300 milligrams. For this you need at least 20 grams of dried Peyote cactus. If you want a milder trip, take 15 grams. The experienced psychonaut could take 30 grams. The dosage of this cactus is therefore very similar to that of the magic truffles. With the important difference that these are eaten fresh where you eat the dried cactus. If you don't do this, you need 150 grams of fresh Peyote for a mild trip. Fresh food is certainly not recommended due to the very bitter taste.
And just like with truffles, it is quite possible to make tea from it. To do this, take water that has just come off the boil and pour it on 20 grams of dried peyote. The effect of tea is slightly milder. Just before the effect of the Mescaline becomes palpable, you may have a feeling of nausea.
Mescaline
Mescaline is an alkaloid and is known as a recreational drug by the names mescalito, mess, wizz en cactus. Besides recreational use, mescaline is mainly used by psychonauts for gaining insights and exploration of the mind.
In areas that now belong to Mexico and the United States, this substance has been known for a long time. There is evidence of pre-Columbian use and even far into prehistoric times, as evidenced by the discovery by archaeologists of dried peyote buds preserved by man, radiocarbon dated 3780-3660 BC. [1] It was mainly used in shamanic rituals.
The effect of mescaline would be described by users as an inner journey through the mind, exploring both the negative and positive sides of the mind from a different perspective. Some users would see everything surrounded by some kind of cartoonish light. It is known that the singer of The Doors, Jim Morrison, regularly experimented with mescaline. This is also shown in the movie of the same name The Doors from 1991. The band name is derived from the book Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley. In the book, Huxley describes his experiences with the use of mescaline.
